We're so excited about our new collection of British-made pocket mirrors. They're as entirely British as can be, from the glass to the pouch.
The pewter is traditionally hand-turned and polished in Sheffield. Each one is signed with the spur of pewterer Edwin Blyde & Co (est. 1798) and a seahorse, the quality mark of Britain's Worshipful Company of Pewterers.
Each mirror is something beautiful to support the UK's tradition of skilled craftsmanship... from Derek who hand turns the pewter in Sheffield, to Giulio who cuts and hand-finished the glass in Enfield... to Brenda who sews our pouches in Cambridge!
We'll share stories and pictures from our brilliant manufacturers over the next month. In the meantime you can take a peek at the inspiration behind my new mirror designs on Pinterest. It's an eclectic mix of Victorian book bindings and Regency embroideries, and an archive Yorkshire textile from 1897...
The pocket mirrors will be available via Amazon by mid April. If you'd like hear as soon as they are, just email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I can't wait to share them with you!
