You'll know from my sketchbook pages that I first paint the flowers I use in my designs. Here's my latest painting of Japanese quince for my new 2016 collection.
I'm paint, paint, painting this winter until I have one or two paintings that could look lovely compact-sized. Then I plan to reproduce these under glass, like many compacts from the 1950s. Fingers-crossed that the paintings come together!
I'm not sure at all that this quince will make the cut, but I love the red against our grey Yorkshire stone. Its flowers cut through some of the coldest March days. And, again, that red!
