Fantastic, inspirational evening yesterday thanks to Creative Calderdale - a local scheme for creative and digital businesses. Mark Palmer, Green & Black's (yes, THE Green & Black's!) Director of Marketing spoke for an hour on his experience. Met one thoroughly interesting chap from Suma (another super brand... and a coop to boot... based just down the road in Elland, Yorkshire) (I love Suma). And another who has his own publisher of specialist folk music books - Herron Publishing.
I'd forgotten how important evenings like that are. Events at the British Library's Business & IP Centre kept me dreaming while in London. Incredibly lucky to have found something similarly motivating here, when suddenly I find myself with my own business. If Mark Palmer had been speaking at the British Library I would have had to fight for a seat. In Todmorden Town Hall, there was free curry and a couple who had brought their 10 month old baby. Couldn't be happier.
